8:31pm........Sue, the one that went up into the tree first was Ma. Trooper followed her but then left the branch and went a bit higher. I don't think we will ever get her eye dots as that is so difficult............everything else matches in general. The tail is the right shape, she has a notch in the right spot............head shape, general look etc. Trooper had a tiny slit above his notch, but not Ma and we are seeing that evident here. I think we are safe in saying it is her.

I cannot stay but will be back later.

Glad they are both home! :woohoo:

So....I am still continuing to look at the rollback...and based on Jean's tail ID, I do believe that I originally had the ID correct of the first one in the nest being Trooper...then Ma came in and Trooper didn't let Ma have the leftovers...Ma then hopped up on the branch, which is where the tail ID came from.....eventually, Ma came down and had her turn at the leftovers (this could have been the rabbit that Trooper had brought in yesterday).

7:40 am - Ma (on the right) finished with whatever she could get off of the leftover, and then headed back up into the tree

Here is another shot of Ma's tail up on the branch
2019-09-30 11_36_59-Greenshot.jpg
Then, Trooper joins Ma .... so this would be Trooper on the left, Ma on the right (and we can see the tail is also dirty)

7:41 am - hmmm, Jean, I'm not sure that Ma is the one still on the nest tree (at 8:45 am)....I saw it that it was Trooper on the left when both were up on the branch...then he flew over to the higher branch....please correct me if I am wrong.

ADDED......by Jean.............Ma did go up higher after this and eventually left the tree. Trooper remains.

7:54 pm - Ma flew off at some point after the last post and I didn't find her until this time...she was up in the front part of the tree

She flew off seconds after I found her and headed right for the center pole.

Just had to post this because for some reason the little birdies decided it was okay to come to the nest tree....they hung out on the branches and also went to the nest to do some cleanup. While there a couple of the little birdies got very close to Trooper....but he didn't mind, lol. Just look at his eyes. Of course, he's not even interested in the little birdies...he's looking off way in the distance.

9:15 am - I am still logged into the cams but if there are any available zoomers that would like to take the cams please let me know. I will stay on but have a few things to do around the house and will keep my eyes & ears on them from time to time. Just want to keep them on camera since this is the first we are seeing Ma & Trooper back. They both remain on the nest tree (Trooper) and center pole (Ma)

One last thing I wanted to mention was that earlier (at 7:53 am) one of the Tower eagles was at home on their tower.

Sue, I am back home and can give you a break. Are you ready to log off? Oh and wanted to say after looking at this morning's activities, doing a Happy Dance that Ma is home. Welcome back, Ma!

OMG Sue.......you are so right! After I got a good look at that tail I assumed it was the same eagle I was looking at currently....and it was not!! I completely missed Ma going up higher to the front of the tree and flying off. That was Trooper remaining in the tree after our IDing event..............Ma went to the tower! I was looking at the wrong branch! :oops2:

I have edited some of the previous comments so the sequence of events is correct.

9:53 am - Sandy, thanks for taking the cams. I am now logged off. Have fun with Ma & Trooper....although they have been in the same spots for the last couple hours it seems. They have to move at some point.

10:01 am tried to get a close up of Trooper but the lighting of course isn't the best. Ma is preening while she is on the center pole.
