12:10 pm in rollback, attempted to find out what bird this was but still not sure. Best I can tell it might be a flycatcher based on the beak
and head shape and but not absolutely sure.

12:57pm.......Thanks Sandy for all those dates! We are getting closer now to seeing some of our eagles return to the area. According to my records we also saw a large bird on the flag pole on Sept. 8th........could have been an eagle in the area. Then by the 26th we were seeing more adults on towers nearby. And of course we saw Ma on t he 28th.

I am guessing that bird you have spotted in the tree is likely a female Northern Flicker. I have lots of Flickers in my yard today...........I think the males have the red on them that we don't see with this one.

He is a picture I found taken by AD Onsgard.

3:28pm........Sure looks like someone perched on the distant evergreen tree......no white head. That pesky leaf in front is blocking our view when the breeze moves it. I think we've seen dark figures here before so often wonder if this is a bird or a branch on the evergreen tree. :chin: :dunno:

7:03pm...........IN on both cams.

It seems to be getting dark so early now..........sunset is 7:12pm tonight.......when looking at the bluff nest I saw someone fly upwards and to the left..........could very much have been an eagle but with the light so dim now, and the cam having a hard time focusing..........it is hard to be sure.

Arrow shows the bluff nest.

7:28pm.........Not seeing anyone else tonight.........no one on the towers or poles. That bird could have been an eagle.............I'm sure some must be coming back to their territories now as the HM pair is now back. Ma and Trooper will get here when they are ready.

I am now OFF both cams.

Thanks so much, Jean, for the identification the little visitor from yesterday. Found the little flicker in the woodpecker section of my bird book and of course, I didn't look there. Excited to see the large mystery bird flying around last night from the bluff nest area and to see eagles back at Harrison Mills. Hope to see Ma and Trooper so very soon.

7:02 am logging into both cams for a look see.
7:16 am logging off both cams. Made a couple of trips around the poles and towers and didn't see anything. It is terribly soggy foggy out there right now. Thinking if there are any birds out there, they are tucked in away from the drizzling rain. Will check back later.

9:52am.......... Good morning Delta2 friends! Thank you Sandy for checking on the nest this morning! It is very wet here right now...........we might not see anything of significance today. It will be mistly and cloudy in the distance until things start to dry out which migh happen a bit this afternoon.
