I recorded the intruder in slow motion and played it a few times and it looked to me like a juvie. I couldn't see any white in the tail.

Is this intruder a juvie?

I wondered too, I stared at it so long I got a headache. I recorded for about 10 minutes and want to go back over it in slow motion but I have to go out for a couple of hours so off cams and will look at it later.

Parent is still in the same spot in the field (to the right of the far right tower and slightly closer to the nest).

3:53pm.......Thanks everyone for such great s'caps and observations today! Unless I missed it, it looks like Coola has been a no show today? If that is the case it might be that she has found her way out there to other interests and is finding food on her own and possibly has been fed by our parents away from the nest. But with all the food that has come into the nest since last night I have to think Coola would be there for her share if she was close by.

Great video Darlene, thanks for slowing it down for us to see! Here are some enlargements from the video. It could just be the lighting but I think I am seeing white on the head and tail of that intruder.........at least a sub adult then or maybe another adult. They are all hungry.

3:47 pm: Looks like a juvie arrived home on the Neighbors' Tower.
2019-07-17 (3)_LI.jpg
3:48 pm: I was looking at the evergreen & suddenly a large bird flew out of the evergreen. Not sure if it was Coola. Did not go to the nest & I checked the area & did not see an eagle anywhere else, except Bella (who is still laying down) & the Neightbors' Tower juvie.

Since no activity is happening & I cannot find the other family members, I'm going to set the cams & jump off.

Jean, the adult was on that dirt path....if you go to the stick tree and then just follow that path to the left. Here's a shot of it zoomed out. The red arrow is about where the adult was...the blue arrows are the Tower neighbors large tower and their left pole.

4:18pm.............I've been looking back at the rollback.............sorry, I haven't moved the cams while doing this. There was definitely an eaglet down by the adult in the field.......easy to see it moving around if you watch the rollback. It looked like it was hopping around. I think it was learning how to catch small prey........do not think there is any reason for worry just because it was there.

From the rollback

Thanks Sue........I've just been checking the rollback.

Here is more from the rollback...........if Bella was in the nest, this is likely Coola!

Darlene, thanks so much for catching that adult and keeping the cam focused there so you could capture our little Coola out there.

Jean, Bella was definitely on the nest at the time of your s'caps showing Coola and the adult in the field.

4;32pm............I am not seeing anyone down in that area right now, so they have moved on. Please look at the rollback for the WEST cam starting at about 1:50pm. Keep watching and don't look away as it is fast and fleeting. I do think this is one of our adults and Coola taking some lessons. How super to see as this isn't something we get a chance to see a lot!

4:39pm.....If anyone can make a video of that adult with the eaglet as seen from the WEST cam at about 1:50pm that would be great as it is evidence of adults helping their eaglets to learn to hunt. Of course we are speculating a bit here, but it sure looked like it to me! Thanks!

I am now OFF both cams.

I've brought the E cam down more to the nest as the sun looks to be coming out.

Jean, thanks for pinpointing that time...I know Darlene had kept looking there and know how hard it is to keep your eyes focused in on that...Always nice for all those extra eyes. That was definitely an eaglet hopping around.

I just looked back through my earlier video and, yes, that was a parent in the field with Coola. Coola flew to the left so hopefully ok.

What an exciting afternoon to see Coola with either Ma or Trooper down in the field. Fabulous job, Darlene, for finding this happy time and for Jean for finding it in the rollback. As you asked, I went back and got the video.

At 13:49:51, can see wings flapping on the right of the adult down in the grasses. At 13:51:23, can see Coola move on the left of the adult to move away. As Jean mentioned, have to look quickly.
