I don't think anyone was testing the IR this morning - my guess is that the light just couldn't decide if it was morning or not because it is a gray day.Marilyn wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 7:20 amI noticed the IR on West View cam flickering in and out 6:37 - 6:41. Now it hasn't turned off. Is this a problem or are they testing it?
I saw the owls in and out 12:20 - 1:30 (didn't roll back further or forward). What happens if they are claiming the nest when the eagles come back?
I'm not an expert, but it's my understanding that great horned owls don't build nests, and instead look for empty nests or nests they can take over. Eagles are bigger - but the owls are fierce, so it could get messy if our pair and these owls (I'm guessing there's a mate around somewhere) decide they want the nest. I suspect they both pick their fights, and unless one or both pairs were desperate for a nest, there could be a few confrontations, then one pair would move on.
