Checking in and it is wonderful to read the sweet tributes of Trooper. So miss him. And Judy, appreciate the update for this year's donation drive.

I was going through files, cleaning and removing files from this past year. Took a look at older files as well and ran across this favorite image of mine of Ma and Trooper from October 2020. So I put a frame around it. Reminds me of the connection between those two. So thought I would share.

Hope Ma, Delta Male, and Trooper are safe as they are out and about hopefully catching some great salmon. :rh:

Thank you JudyB for the end of season updates on the many Hancock nests. A great read and updates on what a season it has been for the many nests this year. Looking ahead and forward to next season and hopefully some wee little eaglets on them. I love the picture of Ma feeding her wee ones , Bella and Coola in 2019 season..

Thank you Sandy for Sharing the Beautiful framed picture of Ma and Trooper. A memory for sure ..

3:29pm.......Thanks everyone for all your comments and pictures of Trooper and Ma. Trooper was indeed a great mate for Ma and he will be remembered for that.

It has been extremely hot here for a couple of weeks now. The temperature might dip down by a couple of degrees but that will be short lived. Time for relief from this heat. Hope our eagles are up north in a cooler environment.

3:32pm......IN on cam.....just checking that it is still working.

Things look pretty much the same so don't think the cam has shifted any more. It is quiet. No birds to be seen but with this heat they most likely are in hiding if they are around. Certainly no eagles nearby.

I am now OFF the cam.

2022 Cam Maintenance
Matching Drive

Thanks to all who have donated - we are already up to $3000! And that doesn't include the $1000 matching pledge, which should arrive in a day or so. And I've heard of at least three more nest adoptions that are in the works. :D

We already have 12 adoptions for 2023 - 3 for Delta 2, 3 for White Rock, 2 for Surrey Reserve, one each for Harrison Mills and French Creek, and two for the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam. (The SWFEC donations are towards the expenses of maintaining the forum where screenshots, observations, and video links are stored; we are not involved with the maintenance of the cams there.)

As you may know, we plan to replace the nest in the dying tree at Delta 2 with a new nest on a pole near the original nest. This is a major project, estimated to cost around $25,000 - and I think we have all the major components in hand so we should be able to get this done in the next few weeks.

Here are a couple of pictures of Ma Delta and DM (Delta Male), the first from early June (thanks, Sandy_W!) and the second from late July (thanks, RoseA!).

They make a handsome pair, and I'm really hoping we'll be able to see them raise chicks in their new nest in 2023 (fingers crossed).

The primary goal of this fund drive is to help with the cost of cleaning and maintenance - which the new cams being installed won't need. But there are internet expenses, and the cost of renting server space for our very large forum with all these wonderful photos - so if you can, please help.

We've tried to answer some of the common questions about donating here - All About Donating - and please feel free to PM me if you have other questions or concerns.

Thank You!

Howdy!!! This is Carleen - the same Carleen for several years. I had to do a new name (now CarleenOV) and a new e-mail address to be able to get back in here.
The passage of time is a bit scary but necessary. I'm hoping that Ma and her new mate make it back in good shape. I'm looking forward to eggs and little birdies!!! Hello, also, to Trooper, wherever he may be.
See you later. Carleen....

Good Evening,

Thought I would pop in post a line or two. I'm still here :)

Pretty calm at the nest, few of our wee birds popping in n out looking for scraps to add to thier nest ..I'm watching our empty nest, checking for updates on forum for our new nest to be built for Ma and DM..

Thank you JudyB for the update on all the nests, the donations, the fundraising and information on the nest work for delta we hope to have before Ma and DM return..

Hope Ma and DM are enjoying the migration and getting plenty of rest and lots salmon to feast on before returning to us strong and Healthy and hoping Ma's leg is not giving her too much trouble and healing stronger each day..I hope as well Trooper, if he is on migration is getting a nice salmon feast as well.

Soon fall will be upon us before we know it so hope all who work our forums are enjoying their summer..

Looking forward and waiting for the update on our new nest and counting the days for Ma and DM , as well as our other nests eagles to return to us safe, healthy and strong...
