3:04 pm - this chick wants to be up...but Ma knows better....probably too cold and way too windy for our little ones to be out

3:31 pm - Ma was relaxing....head down listening, or dozing...couldn't tell...then all of a sudden she was vocalizing, like some unwanted visitor was above.....I did hear another vocal and think it was Trooper up in the nest tree but Ma's vocals seemed more like alarms....maybe Trooper surprised her since she may have been dozing off. Looked for Trooper on the evergreen tee and did not see him there so I assume he is up in the nest tree out of cam view

3:41 pm - Ma is still on the nest with her chicks. Assume Trooper is up top....winds are still blowing pretty strong.

4:00pm...IN on both cams.

Just as I was getting here I saw Ma get up off the chicks..........she attempted to do a feeding but that wind is absolutely brutal right now! Way stronger than this morning!! Ma managed to get a couple of pieces into chick #1............chick #2 did stand up a few times, fell over, think he got blown over by the wind and movement of the nest. So he ate nothing.

Super, super windy! :holdon: :holdon:

4:13pm.....The newest chick #2 did look stronger. He stood up and really tried to get a look at life out there. But this wind is too strong for a wee one like him. In no time Ma was back over them keeping them covered. You could see that even Ma was being careful as she moved around the nest in this wind.

4:20pm..Can't believe there is no wind warning out right now. It is supposed to get warm this week and I suppose this is the changing of the systems with cold air leaving and warmer air replacing it. Our eagles just need to lay low for a while........it will get better for sure.

Seems to be lots of food left in the pantry.

4:35pm.......I expect Ma will stay low.....she doesn't need this wind either. And the chicks will be safe under her. If and when this wind dies down we might be able to get a better look at that 3rd unhatched egg.

I'm leaving the cams in closer as this wind makes the motion of the nest not pleasant to watch.

I am now OFF both cams.

Good news! Finally... they didn't get much, but the first few hesitant little bites were taken and that's the important part.
