Good Evening,

I have a ? regarding the Tower eagles..

I have been observing posts here on forum and since Monday 3/23. I have observed that on posts entered i have only been seeing one of the eagles at this nest, Either perched above the nest or nesting on the eggs- but only 1 present ..Monday 3/23 is the last post in forum i see where both eagles were seen at the nest site together.

If I am incorrect in my observations please correct me and the posts it shows both after the date i mentioned and wondering if anyone else has thought the same as myself.

Thank you,
Linuxgw2
Hi Linux! I know there are times when it seems that we are not seeing both Tower eagles, and that happens because that is not really the pair we are documenting here, but we do include them since we can see them. I know for myself, I focus on Ma & Trooper first and their territory. If I am finding other eagles in our territory, or if Ma & Trooper are flying around a lot, I usually don't go and check on the Tower eagles as much as some other times. Like this morning, there were 3 adults out in Ma & Trooper's territory, one was Ma, but not sure who the other two were. With two cams, we try to keep one on the nest, and can stray around with the other cam, but it's hard to keep track of 3 adults out on the poles and also go and check in on the Tower eagles. Also, because we don't always focus on the Tower eagles, we do not know, other than the few towers and poles that we have followed them to, what other places, like trees in that area where they may perch. So when we do not see the 2nd Tower eagle they could be perched anywhere, or maybe down at the water looking for food. A few minutes ago I was able to find the 2nd Tower eagle so seems they are fine.

I noticed Ma was looking out toward the School trees so checked on them and it looks like a couple of large black birds...not sure they're big enough to be eagles

6:50 pm - this crow has been making so much noise....went looking for him and he's on the evergreen tree (on the left)...with a couple little ones on the right. Not sure what he is crowing at....looked to the left where he was focused on and didn't see anyone there.

7:05pm........IN on both cams.

Thanks for zooming Sue.............I am late getting here tonight but glad I made it! Thanks for answering the question from Linuxgw2................you are absolutely right!

Linuxgw2............our focus is indeed on Ma and Trooper...........we have the luxury of seeing other nests in the area. These nests which are really far away we can only see minimal details..............and once the leaves come on the trees we will not see them at all. So we never really know how the season ends for them. The Tower eagles are the closest neighbours..................and we can see much more, but are still guessing a lot of the time about them. And just because we don't see an adult there doesn't mean that eagle is not around. Think about it............we often can't locate Ma or Trooper if they are not in their usual spots, but they are around. I would be more worried if we didn't see an adult on the Tower nest as we have concluded by now that they do have at least one egg there.

Sunset time..............

7:28pm........Eagle up on the top of the church cross.........no one in the bluff nest that we can see.
1.JPG
Eagle? in the tree to the right of the bay nest.
2.JPG
Not seeing anyone in the bay nest......or the tree. We have not been seeing eagles around this nest much lately..........so it doesn't seem they have any eggs..............unless the nest is so deep we cannot see an adult when it is in the nest.
