7:22 am - this looks like Ma on the nest tree...and I can't tell for sure, but there may be someone above her...thinking I'm seeing a tail and then the body up top....but have to see movement to be sure.

7:28 am - I think that only Ma is up in the nest tree at this point. I did find another adult out on the middle of the field tree

7:36 am - Well the adult on the middle of the field tree flew off and went down....searching for something to eat I'm sure...but then came back to the tree

After they had left the tree I checked the far right tower and looks like maybe a sub-adult up there

7:42 am - the adult left the middle of the field tree again and I saw them flying over by the port pole but lost them.....Next thing I knew Trooper was coming to the nest tree, and Ma was already on a different branch.

7:58 am - no one home at the Tower neighbor's nest...but we can see it is snow covered like the Delta nest. That snow has to be pretty deep in order for us to see it so clearly

8:21 am - both eagles were vocalizing and I can see why...looks like a young eagle flying towards the nest tree and they go over top of it.

I suggest Trooper is seeing animals floundering in the traps and takes the opportunity to grab them, trap and all. This second trap was covered in snow when he brought the duck in with it. I doubt he would have noticed the trap, altho certainly the struggling duck. (I will have to learn how to quote the message I'm replying to.)
Could this be the reason we are seeing Trooper and Ma bringing in so many ducks versus other food?
Sandy.........there is a bountiful supply of ducks in the area right now just sitting down there on the ground.................our eagles will bring in anything that is easy to get. Fish is not, especially with frozen water around.

10:03am.......... Good morning Delta2 friends! Thank you Philippe and Sue for your posts! As you have seen there was a dump of snow since late yesterday.............a lot of it. And it isn't over yet. Another one is coming in later today so side roads are not good although main roads are hopefully ok.

Due to the extra work that the snow has brought..........I may not be able to be here much today. Please post if you are watching. Thanks.

10:08am..........Regarding the 2 rat traps in the nest.........have heard back from Gemini (Sharon)............here is part of that email..................general opinion is to not worry.

When I spoke to David he didn’t seem too concerned about this kind of rat-trap because the trap had already been sprung and he said this is not the kind of trap in which poison is used. If he was concerned with the eagles getting caught in one, I believe he would have said something. I can only think he feels it’s likely that they would only go after “prey” caught in it, in which case the trap would have already been sprung and would impose no danger to them. David is always thinking of the eagles safety and I can’t imagine he hadn’t already thought of that and dismissed it as a possibility.

9:02 am - from the rollback - looks like Trooper left the nest at this time...he appeared to be heading towards the evergreens.

10:08 am - not sure if this is just the sunlight reflecting off the snow but boy is it bright at the nest....no one has been back to the nest at this point
