Re: Carolina Raptor Ctr 2018 NC - Bald Eagle Cam

Sunday, February 25, 2018 Welcome to the new Hancock Wildlife Foundation forum - and our thread for the Carolina Raptor Center. I was hoping to post a picture of Savannah - but unfortunately the cam is offline until tomorrow morning. I have locked our previous thread - http://www.hancockwildlife.or...

Re: Practice Thread

I see no problem with having the Attachments label, Jean. I didn't see any option to remove it in the settings, so we'd need to tweak the software - and that might be possible - but not until we get everything else up and running. If the Attachments label is a problem for people, please remind me in...

Re: Practice Thread

Neat! And a lovely picture, too! I don't think I ever slide anything anywhere - tried way back when, but sometimes files are copied and sometimes they're moved, and I sort of gave up on it. My s'caps go to a folder, and I click Browse and they're usually the top pictures there - so for me it's quick...

Re: Screech Hollow

Gemini posted this on the previous forum - and it's still true today. Hi Everyone: As you know we have had some copyright issues lately that we have had to address. Unfortunately, it is going to change the way you have been used to posting. Please read the following carefully: DO NOT POST ANY...

Screech Hollow

ScreechHollow__VelmaFlynn.jpg Welcome Screech Hollow Chat to your home on our new HWF forum I hope Velma Flann who set up the original threads for Screech Hollow will stop by sometime - and I thank her for the Screech Hollow image at the top. Re: Practice Thread

What do you mean by "slide a picture in"? This may be something I haven't learned yet! :)

And you don't have to mess with FILE tags and remember which number is which.

Re: Please Post Your Questions Here

JPG files are usually quite a bit smaller than PNG files - one of the reasons we didn't allow PNG files on the other forum. I'd generally recommend that anyone who can easily convert to JPG and has time to do that (I know hatches don't wait while you open an editing program!) - use JPGs to save room...

Re: Practice Thread

It's not intuitive, but once you've added a file, if you click the "Place Inline" beside that image, the image will go wherever your cursor is, rather than ending up at the end in an Attachment box. http://forum.hancockwildlife.org/download/file.php?id=838&t=1 A second quirk of the software is that ...

Hi Sandy - and that is correct. This is a totally new forum, linked to the other one only by our memories of the many eagles we've watched over the years.

Would Ken have the backup copy of our original phpBB forum ? I am almost certain I recall Richard mentioning to me that he had it backed up somewhere on a hard drive .
Ken says it's safely stored, and that he knows we don't want to lose anything, ever. :)

Re: Practice Thread

A second quirk of the software is that pictures that are 500 pixels or less in width will show info about the picture underneath them, like the pictures Debs posted just before this post. We're hoping that will be fixed in the next update of the software, or there may be something we can do to fix i...
