Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
The eagles are coming to roost at the Camas National Wildlife Refuge. So many eagles sounds interesting. Another icy storm coming our way again. What this is the fourth. I have lost track. So icy our streets. In this whole area very difficult to find a bag of salt. As soon as a shipment comes in to ...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
The Pittsbugh Pennsylvania eagle incubating the egg is up against the tree branch for support. His/her feathers have been blowing up in the air. The last time wad a bit much the feathers and eagle tipped forward a bit to much. So the egg was rolled and the eagle turned to face the wind. Know how you...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
Yes I am so sorry too. So much bad weather this year. Even Redding California under a winter weather warning and they hardly ever get snow. The eagles nest in Pennsylvania just whistling away in high winds with incubation going on. And rain and mudslides in California. And ice and snow in Iowa and I...

Hope my electricity stays on. Stay safe you all in the storms path. Somehow just take one step at a time. And all eagles a...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
So thank you Philjo on the articles on the black hawk. So far away from home. All the way to Maine from her native home of central or south America. A ride on a plane perhaps. So I can see how she/he ran into feet issues in cold Portand, Maine. So far away. So Canaye I have not seen him/her before. ...

Re: Decorah Iowa 2018-2019
I follow this nest for a couple years and enjoy it much and enjoyed the PBS special on tv on the decorah eagles. But the eagles will be on a warmer branch as windchills are -30 ot greater. Their feathers are like down but they still go to the wsrmth. Won't find them on the nest. Love decorah

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
Sad about the black hawk. I don't think Portland got the big freeze. How is or did this hawk lose his legs? The polar chill was mostly in the midwest. And they say for the eagles they can withstand these temps of -40 to -50 wind chills as their feathers act like down keeping them warm. They won 't s...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest
Thank you Pascale for your concern for the dangerous cold spell for decorah and trio's eagles this dangerous cold snap. You cannot see the cold snap or feel the cold snap on the cams. It will last for a few days and a bird or animal or even me can get into trouble fast. Happy thoughts for the eagles...

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2018~2019
Wow that was a pretty big storm rain system that hit the whole state of Florida. And by Florida standard a cold state. Love watching the SWFL eagle cam. Now maybe Harriet and M can dry out for a while.
