Re: Surrey Reserve 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion
Changed position. 20220416_013.jpg Just saw the arrival on South - two eagles gracefully flew in together, with one going to the hidden perch, and the other one going to the nest. Just logged into South quickly to check, and no one was on the hidden perch now (6:57 pm). Slightly different angle. 202...

Re: Harrison Mills 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion Thread
6:41 pm The eggs are still alone on the nest. :cry1: Mom Dimple's top priority is to make sure she survives - she has many years, and hopefully many chicks, ahead of her, and has to take care of herself. This is hard to watch - but I'm happy she's taking the break she needs to hunt for herself, if D...

Re: Harrison Mills 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion Thread
Hi Heather and Judy ,, I am so confused now . what are you saying ?? I think we're not sure if the second eagle we've been seeing is Duffer or a different male. And Heather has been having better luck than I am at seeing eagles flying while I'm zooming - so I'm zooming while she's here and can tell...

I'm going to try to log in and look around slowly if the cam will cooperate - maybe we can find someone, Heather.

Re: Harrison Mills 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion Thread
I didn't see mention Judy of Eagle thinking Mom Dimple flying back to nest so thought I'd share 7:50 am Screenshot_20220416-075746_YouTube.jpg Thanks, Heather - I don't always see movement when the cam is moving, so am very glad you caught those. I've been trying to figure where she might be going,...

Re: Harrison Mills 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion Thread
5:49 pm Mom Dimple flew off at 5:32 pm. I noticed that the sound had gone off again, so I restarted that. I did a quick check of the babysitting branch and the flats, and didn't see anyone. The sound is quite choppy, which tends to mean that the signal is choppy, so I brought the cam back to the nes...

Re: Zoo Miami Eagle Cam 2021-2022
Continuing.... Folks on Chat said that R1 fledged around March 20 and R2 had a somewhat forced fledge a few days later, mentioning something about fishing line and a rescue. With that - and their suggestion that I try the Wildlife Rescue of Dade County facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/wildlifer...

Adult just stood up, looked around and flew off.
I looked around briefly and didn't see anyone, so brought the cam back to the nest.

Adult is back and settles down on the eggs. I suspect that this is Mom Dimple, and hope she had a nice meal while she was away.
She is arranging the bits of moss around the nest cup area.
3:21 pm
Incubating and quietly looking around.

Re: Harrison Mills 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion Thread
It's now 2:36 pm and the eggs are still alone. I think the cam froze briefly, but the eggs were in the same exact position when I refreshed the feed, so it's unlikely that anyone stopped by while it wasn't streaming.
Mom Dimple left at 12:10 pm, so they've been alone a bit over two hours.

It's been a while since I looked in here - the older fledgling is 15 weeks old today and the younger will be 15 weeks old tomorrow, and they are still hanging around the nest.
Now I need to do a bit of research to see when they fledged.

Re: Harrison Mills 2021-2022 Observation and Discussion Thread
Adult called a few times, then up and flew off at 12:10 pm. There might have been a call in the distance - couldn't tell for sure. 20220416_004.jpg I tried looking around briefly, but the cam was not behaving, so I brought it back to the nest and logged out. Added - 12:47 pm Eggs are still alone. I ...
