Re: Wilson Creek Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast, BC 2018-2021

Driving past the Wilson Creek mall today I saw an adult flying overhead into the territory carrying a big stick so perhaps this pair are doing some last minute nest repairs. :luck:

Re: Henderson Bald Eagles, Roberts Creek, Sunshine Coast, BC - 2020/2021 Season

I visited the OIave nest last Saturday (Mar 27) and when I looked across to the Henderson nest I could just about see one adult perched at the top of one of their favourite trees near the nest tree. Hopefully this means Ma and Pa will try again so fingers crossed for this season :luck: I have some p...

Re: Camp Olave Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast BC - 2019/2021 seasons

I visited last Saturday (Mar 27) and saw one adult sitting in the nest, I think Ma, with the other adult in the area so things seem to be proceeding well here. :)

I have some pics that I will add as soon as I have uploaded them.

Re: Browning Rd/Paul Beach Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast BC - 2019/2021 seasons

I visited last Saturday (Mar 27) and was there when an adult brought a stick into the nest. In fact the adult broke the stick off a tree right over my head which gave me quite a surprise. The adult, I think Pa, delivered the stick to the nest where it was arranged by Ma who was already in the nest. ...

Re: Sargeant Bay Bald Eagles, Halfmoon Bay Sunshine Coast, BC 2018-2021

I visited last week and saw 1 adult eagle perched near the B&B. I checked the old nest tree but couldn't really tell if the nest had been rebuilt. I haven't uploaded my pics yet but they might help :luck:

Re: Field Rd Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast, BC - 2019/2021 season

So far in March I've seen mating a couple of times and lots of visits to the nest. Not sure if there is an egg yet but it can't be too far away. :)

I have some pics and will post once I have uploaded them

Re: Field Rd Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast, BC - 2019/2021 season

In Feb, still some disagreements with other eagles but generally pretty quiet. Re: Field Rd Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast, BC - 2019/2021 season

More activity later in Jan. It seems Ma and Pa have chosen the same nest this year as last year. Lots of activity around that tree in late Jan/early Feb Ma and Pa enjoying some midday sunshine on Jan 14 HWF_Field_20210114_1155.jpg On Jan 29, an adult returns to the nest with what looks like a big fi...

Re: Camp Olave Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast BC - 2019/2021 seasons

I visited on Jan 28 and saw 1 adult perched near the nest I'm not sure if there had been any nest repairs as it still looked pretty rough.

I plan to visit again very soon :)

Re: Browning Rd/Paul Beach Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast BC - 2019/2021 seasons

I visited on Jan 28 and saw 1 adult sitting at the top of the tree but no sign of a second adult.

The nest still looked quite beaten up so not sure if they had started their repairs. I am planning to visit again soon :)

Re: Stalashen Bald Eagle Nest, Sunshine Coast B.C. Seasons 2019-2021

Marg, what a lovely memory about walking out onto Mission Point with Earl :rh:

Mission Point is such a great spot for watching eagles and other birds. Plus Mt Baker .... on a clear day of course!

And I love that romantic picture of Ma and Pa at the nest.

Re: Field Rd Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast, BC - 2019/2021 season

Thanks Sandra! :) :luck: On Jan 10 there was quite the interaction between Ma and Pa and another couple that seemed to be interested in the nest and territory. Lots of swirling, whirling and shouting between all 4 adults. I saw some pretty heated exchanges with even a couple of talon face-offs. But ...

Re: Field Rd Bald Eagles, Sunshine Coast, BC - 2019/2021 season

So far this year I haven't had any sightings of both adults together but many sightings of a single adult, including one bringing in a stick today. I didn't see which nest the stick was taken to but good to know that they are tackling repairs. One adult flyover on Jan 3 HWF_Field_20210103_0734.jpg A...
