Re: AEF Captiva/Sanibel Island Eagle Cam 2020/21
Thanks MaryF I did see it. I've been watching eagles for a long time so I know the heartbreak. I had been out of the loop for a few days on this cam and came back to see how things were going and there were several posts about it being sick. I went checked saw that it was eating, but still acting pu...

Re: AEF Captiva/Sanibel Island Eagle Cam 2020/21
Very sorry to see the passing of the little eaglet. I have searched FB and there is no mention of it on AEF's page. Sad that I had to find out on my own when I went to check in on youtube.

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2019~2020
Let's all just try to stay calm about the situation. I know that it's upsetting and it is to me as well. Hopefully this will work itself out without any of these beautiful birds getting hurt. None of us wants to see that. For sure though there won't be an owl box in the pasture or anywhere on the P...

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2019~2020
Duck_keeper your ideas do sound wonderful but I just don't think something like that would be allowed even by FWS or the Pritchetts in the pasture. I'm afraid that we will have to see how things work out for our eagle pair. ~MaryF

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2019~2020
Poor girl hope she is OK. :cry1: It probably had a nest over where they knocked down those trees that Wskrs showed us a while back. Hoping this owl finds another area to nest soon. Edit to add: Just wondering if the Pritchett's can put up an owl box on the other end of their pasture to possibly attr...

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2019~2020
Owl back @ 20:51 knocks Harriet off the limb and off the nest tree. You will see her fall down on cam 2 - she is able to recover and do a fly about and comes back to the nest @20:51:42

Re: Savannah Georgia Osprey Nest - 2019 Season
Just found this site today and noticed that there hasn't been an update in a while so here is a pic of the 3 of them. Looks like #3 is a bit smaller than the others, but that is par for the course (hahaha see what it did there?). Anyway #3 got a nice big crop at this feeding and looks to be doing OK...

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2018~2019
Missed farewell chat :cry1: Just wanted to say :ty: to all the mods, zoomies, posters and observations. Life gets in the way sometimes but I always check in on the family here. Happy to see a very successful season and will keep watching for updates here. Onward to season 8! :eag: Hi Duck K...

Re: Fort St Vrain CO Eagle Cam 2018 + 2019
I peeked in a bit ago and was able to see that they are doing OK in this horrible weather. They got a quick dual feeding and mom was back on them. Dad has also been on nest protecting too. FSV_snow_4-10.png I am keeping positive :luck: that they will both be OK as long as mom can keep them both cove...

Re: NE Florida Observation and Discussion thread ...2018 - 2019
I've checked in to see how things look and was listening in to hear if those were eaglet chirps. I think we are hearing a Killdeer in the area. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Killdeer/sounds I hope this intrusion is just that and a short moment in time and everything will turn out OK with R&J. ...

Re: Australian White-Bellied Sea-Eagles 2018
I've been wondering about the status of the dad eagle. It would be nice if they would post something in chat to let people know if he is still around. It would also be good to see if one of the mods are watching if they could post Lady's (or Dad's) fly-ins with food. I guess the chat and close-up ca...

Re: Decorah North (Iowa) - 2017/18
Aww, dang so sad to see that this happened. :cryhanky: Those gnats and files seem to be a real problem this year. I got an email alert that they are even having problems in poultry with chicken farms being affected too. It gave some details about how to help keep my flock from some of these issues, ...

Oh my goodness. These Eaglets seem to have popped their feathers overnight. When I looked in last night eaglet #3 was mostly grey fuzz.

I haven't posted here but have kept up with this family as a casual observer. I am sad to learn of the little one's passing. :brknhrt: Hugs to all that follow this family closely. :grhug: I am posting since it seems there will be few observers today. I can see that some need to step away from this.....

Nice feeding for all 3 @9:40ish ET. FSV38 got plenty along with the others. Mom was giving some big bites but they all got them down. Sorry for the pixilated pics but that is just how this cam is here.

Some bonking going on by the oldest (FSV36) until it was fed til satisfied. FSV37 or #2 got a nice amount this feeding.
Pic of #2 being fed. Egg #3 is still looking to be about as far along as the previous pic.

Re: Fort St Vrain CO Eagle Cam 2018
Two babies so far. Not sure if this is a first feeding. Looks like one of them has probably just hatched recently because it is having a hard time keeping it's head up. Couldn't get a good view of the 3rd egg to see if it is working it's way out. I'll check later if I have time... Dang work gets in ...

Wow you guys are fast at posting pics. I was going to post the fast feeding but y'all are lightning quick! Glad to see the babies got something to eat in this crazy snow storm. They were certainly hungry by the sound of all the peeping they were making.

Checked in late and no one on the eggs and it even looks like one is broken. I think this means this clutch is a bust. She is known to have a second clutch so we'll see if that is in the plan.
