Re: Chaster Beach Eagle Nest on the Strait of Georgia, Gibsons BC on the Sunshine Coast 2019-2020

Lots of action during your visit Sandra, wonderful pictures and nice to know that the nest is being built up. Funny about the couple having their picture taken :-) Sounds like it was very busy along OBE with the orcas and humpbacks going by later too! I was down that way on December 15th with Yogi a...

Re: Marsh Nest, Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast BC 2019-2020

Sorry to take so long posting these pictures, I was in Sechelt on November 30th and did a quick "loop" around the Marsh, it was a dreary drizzly day so didn't expect to see much but then heard an eagle calling and looked over towards the nest and saw one of the adults in the nest, quickly followed b...

Re: Chaster Beach Eagle Nest on the Strait of Georgia, Gibsons BC on the Sunshine Coast 2019-2020

I was back along Ocean Beach Esplanade again on Tuesday with our dog (Yogi) and while driving to the end of the road noticed Pa Chaster perched on a rock eating. Again ! This time he had apparently just stolen a fish from a river otter, I missed the fish swap but did see the otter just as it left th...

Thank you Sandra! Yesterday I was back walking along OBE with Yogi and saw Pa eating again. Not an octopus this time :) Will post some pictures I took from the roadway soon, this was closer to the larger pullout with the little outhouse.

Thank you for opening this thread Sandra! And great news Heather! I've driven by the Marsh a couple of times in the past few weeks and haven't seen any activity at, or near, the nest so glad you did see he/or she there, and with a stick too.

Re: Chaster Beach Eagle Nest on the Strait of Georgia, Gibsons BC on the Sunshine Coast 2019-2020

Thank you for opening this thread Sandra. I was along OBE walking our dog on October 3rd and noticed an eagle on the beach, eating. I was able to take a couple of pictures from the roadway before the eagle flew off and after downloading the pictures was able to clearly see a band on the right leg, P...

Re: Chaster Beach Eagle Nest on the Strait of Georgia, Gibsons BC on the Sunshine Coast 2018-19

Sorry, I didn't read your updates until this afternoon Sandra, otherwise I would have mentioned yesterday that I had been by the nest yesterday and had seen two adults perched in trees along OBE (closer to the nest end) and one eaglet in the nest, looking at the nest from the mailboxes. I was also d...

Re: Stalashen Bald Eagle Nest, Sechelt, Sunshine Coast BC 2018-2019 Season

I was at Port Stalashen this morning and suspect that the young eagle perched in the same tree that I see the adults perch in there was the Stalashen fledgling :-) He/she called off and on for the half hour I was in the area before flying off in the direction of the nest / nest tree. Re: Henderson Nest, Roberts Creek, Sunshine Coast, BC - 2018/2019 Season

When I stopped by the nest this morning, the eaglet was visible in the nest, he/she appeared to be eating at first but then did a couple of wing flaps, headed to the left of the nest and disappeared out of sight. Humm. I then walked down the beach for a ways to see if I could see anything from the b...

Re: Kinnikinnick Park Eagle nest, W Sechelt BC, on the Sunshine Coast, 2018-2019

I was in the area today and while driving down along Heritage Road nearing Sandpiper Road I saw a young eagle fly down along Sandpiper, coming from somewhere near the nest tree. The youngster flew across Heritage Road and landed in a tree in the field with the two horses in it. So am thinking that i...

Re: Reservoir Road Nest in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast BC Season 2018-2019

I stopped by the nest today and there was total silence, I couldn't hear or see any eaglets even after walking down the road a ways and walking further along the road at the top. I kept looking for movement in the nest or even a call from somewhere in the area, but after half an hour I didn't see or...

Re: Larson Rd nest on the Strait of Georgia, Gibsons BC on the Sunshine Coast 2018/2019

I was so glad that she came out when she did Sandra, I really was worried about what might have happened. I went back this afternoon, to hopefully see one or both of the eaglets nearby, I didn't see them but did hear one calling from over in the trees to the right somewhere. So they haven't gone too...

Re: Reservoir Road Nest in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast BC Season 2018-2019

I've stopped by the nest twice since the July 3rd visit and both times have seen both eaglets. One always appears to be lying down in the nest, at first I thought the eaglet may be weak and was a bit worried but there was a food drop while I was there on the 19th and I could see that that eaglet was...

Thank you Sandra and Marg! When I stopped by the nest yesterday it was late afternoon and I saw one adult in the perch tree and movement in the nest, it looked like the eaglet was eating but then quickly moved out of the nest and on to a branch beside it. Yay ! The nest was quite dark due to the position of the sun and where ...

I took a drive to visit the nest this morning and as I was driving along Sandpiper Road towards a parking spot, I saw a dark shape perched in the tree the adults perch in. Once I park...

I was back in Sechelt this morning so stopped by the nest again, not just a driveby this time. No problem stopping in Sandra, I'm by that way fairly regularly with our dog and can stop by Larsen on the way home. Did a quick check in yesterday and saw both eaglets, now looking quite large, and one adult. Again it was dark looking into the nest due to overcast weather so pictures are very grain...
