Thanks Old Bear and Bev, for all that info. I am not sold on the raccoon idea yet. The stance, the height, the whole appearance doesn't seem raccoon like. I will keep looking. It probably is a raccoon, but I have to eliminate more small tree climbing mamals.
I checked the link and here is a scap I got from the critter popping up when eagle was there . looks like a racoon to me/ screenshot_27.jpg I zoomed in on itscreenshot_28.jpg Goodnight again This isn't the same animal as in the Mar 21st post. These above are definitely a racoon. This is a very inte...
I heard from Sutton Hi Bev, We have added a few photos of a raccoon to the camera web page. Interesting development! Sutton Center Here is the link Scroll down https://www.suttoncenter.org/live-bald-eagle-nest-camera/ Hi, did they know what it was? It looks familiar, but I couldn't find any animal ...
Thank you Kitcat, but I must pass that thank you on to Bev. since she posted the link and scap.
However, I just was told on chat that Dr. Sharpe thinks there might have been another egg laid on a new nest that they're constructing. This is a very interesting year here.
Jwin, so sad for this nest. The nest failure rate has got to be attributed to something in their environment. I read maybe the seal placenta are a contributing factor, something about the calcification of the shells. When is egg 3 due? Doesn’t she normally have 3? :luck: for that one. I agree, Kitc...
Good morning,
Very bad storms all around the nest last night. There were several tornadoes in middle TN with several deaths and tremendous damage. We are very lucky that the nest and the eagles are ok.
Hi, all After watching the video and seeing the photos and the feeding this morning, I think this bobble hatched earlier in the day, yesterday. S/he was very alert and hungry this AM. Much more than I would have expected of a less than 12 hour old. I know it doesn't matter, but I needed to of...
Hi, A question for anyone, are males ever on the nest for a hatch? I am only remembering that the females are on the nest. :dunno: :bye 1: I know I've seen it happen, jwin, but it is uncommon, and I don't remember which nest or what year. I really should keep a log of unusual things like that - but...
Hi everyone, I was just watching the nest and was wondering if there is a new female. It didn't look like Mom Decorah. :dunno: :bye 1: Hi jwin... good to see you here ..this is the same Mom :) 6:12pm Both perched above the nest .. this is postcard perfect :rh: screenshot_10.jpg Thanks, Bev, I am no...
First, thank you all for your updates. It is difficult to see nature first hand, especially when you have become fond of a family of eagles. I think :dunno: that Dad has been incubating at night and Mom is off healing. Her head was injured. But the cam is not very cooperative when you try to ID an i...
Suemac, is that a pip in your 9:45 scap? :bye 1: jwin36 no, not a pip. Journi has some close ups of the egg at that time- it is just some grasses on the egg. sure wish it was- maybe later today we will see a pip, talons crossed. Thank you, just wishful thinking on my part. :D :bye 1:
Jwin, I don't know exactly, but I have read where the cams are run on Solar power. But when the live cams don't work you see HIGHLIGHTS in the left corner of your screen. I enjoy this site too. It is peaceful and calm. The audio is great and you can hear eagle vocals, even if they are off camera. T...
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I was watching the flyway cam last night and wondered if it was a live feed because of the amount of light in the sky. MSflyway112719am.jpg Does anyone know what this is about? :chin: I have never seen anything like this before. :dunno: This has become one of my favorite...
5:53 pm This is amazing. I have never seen a sunset like this. Decorah103119553pm.jpg Anyone know if there is a name for the circle of light on the horizon? :bye 1: In french i can say "le halo lumineux du soleil" with google i Don't know if there is a tranlated word for "halo" but it says "The bri...
