Re: WHITE ROCK 2023~2024 Observation & Discussion
3:40 pm I noticed a few minutes ago that the CU/West stream was frozen, and I've sent a message to the folks at Green Light Security who are handling the streaming of the cams. The cam itself is fine, and I see that North is focused on the nest to keep an eye on the chicks until the CU cam is stream...

Re: Mission Harbour Dyke 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion
SATURDAY, MAY 11, 2024 I logged into the West cam briefly to move the cam so it shows some of the nest, and also some of the river and the trees on the other side. My thought was that if someone was exploring the nest, we'd probably see them - and we might also see some activity over the water. Ple...

Message sent about the streams being down or lagging - thanks for the notification! Here are screenshots I got when I logged in to check the cams - looks as if our big eaglets are sleeping alone under the watchful eye of an adult: 20240511_001.jpg 20240511_002.jpg And speaking of sleeping.... :offto...

Re: Report Cams Down and Forum Errors
Thank you, Sandy Jo and gemini, for the updates; I just sent the following message to Michael and the GLS team: As of around 3:10 am: The stream for Boundary Bay South is unavailable; the cam was OK when I logged in to check it. The stream for White Rock CU/West is unavailable; the cam was OK when I...

Re: Mission Harbour Dyke 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion
There was another visit by an osprey for about 10 minutes around 5:10 pm. My impression (based on apparent size and body shape) is that the one in the morning might have been female, and the one this evening might have been male (slightly smaller and more angular). It didn't occur to me to try to ge...

Cam is back - I think the GLS team noticed and restarted it before I had a chance to report it.
Thank you all for the great coverage here - I look in on all of the cams fairly often, but don't have time to really watch, so am very happy to see all the information here!

Re: Mission Harbour Dyke 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion
FRIDAY, MAY 10, 2024 An osprey stopped by on the perches for 5-6 minutes around 10:30 this morning. I don't know if it's one of the pair that was here yesterday. This one flew off in the general direction of the railroad bridge, and there was a bird circling in the distance for a minute or so soon ...

Do Not Disturb a Feisty & Sleeping Chick Narrative: Brit came to the nest to relieve Rey when she looked in on her chick. SR9 was sleeping very soundly and Brit pokes at SR9 to awaken him/her. Took a few tries but SR9 finally pops up. Then as Brit is preparing to provide a meal to her chick, SR9 gi...

The stream for the North cam is down now, though it was working when I logged in directly; I've sent a message to GLS.
Here's a s'cap I grabbed when I logged in to check it - love the family shots!
Thanks for putting the cam back on the nest, Rose!

Re: Boundary Bay Central 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion
12:53 pm The South cam is showing unavailable, and when I logged in to check it, the signal was very choppy. Electrical work is continuing at the site, which may be a factor. I am logging into the North cam very quickly to bring it back to the nest. Added - just saw you online Rose - please put Nort...

Thanks for your reports here, Ferenz - such sad news.
It does make sense that this will help female NC0 move on, and possibly one of the males now visiting will make a good mate for her in the future.

Re: Mission Harbour Dyke 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion
I found a picture of the nest from early April for comparison: 20240403_001.jpg This is from the East cam, so I'm going to log into East briefly to get a comparison, then put the cam back on the perches. Not seeing any major changes to the nest at this point. 20240509_007.jpg I am out of the cam.
