Re: Boundary Bay Central 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion

Great observations, Sue and Rose! It is a challenge - they want to have food on hand for the chick, but that does attract hungry juvies who aren't as skilled at getting their own food. I cropped this from full screen around 7:30 am - today is day 35 for the second egg, and it was hard to tell, but t...

Re: Boundary Bay Central 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion

3:20 pm I was beginning to wonder if this was the same pair as last year (we thought it was - they seemed to know the area and be comfortable with each other) - but it seemed that a couple of times the tiny one was up and peeping, and the adult was looking at the pile of fish, then looking at the ch...

North lagging and as usual quickly getting more behind.
Thanks, DDuckies =

I sent an email about a half hour ago - and I just saw the stream refresh, so we're back in the present! :D

Note: lets refer to new eaglet as BB1 for the time being... eventually they'll have their real name but TBD later.
Sounds like a plan! :thumlft:

Re: Mission Harbour Dyke 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion

Well shoot. It looks like we had a heron visiting earlier. I could only get a screen grab from the inactive stream as it was too late to rollback. Good catch! It is fun when the thumbnail (or whatever it's called) has something interesting - though even more fun when we can roll back and get more o...

Re: Boundary Bay Central 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion

What a wonderful sight to greet the day! Great coverage, Rose and Sue - and I agree that we can confirm the hatch at 8:56 pm! Second adult was in at 6:15 am - not sure if he(?) brought the fish, but she(?) didn't get up, and he did eat some of it. 20240427_001.jpg Mere seemed to be quite watchful wh...

Re: Tracking BETA04/Loki

I'm a little late, but I'd like to wish Loki (and older sibling Thor) a belated happy hatch day! Loki hatched around 9:23 pm on April 6, 2020 - here's a picture of Thor and Loki from the morning of April 7th. 20200407_005.jpg And here's what she looked like four years ago, on April 26, 2020. 2020042...

Re: WHITE ROCK 2023~2024 Observation & Discussion

From about 7:40 am - Adult up for a break after a long night - and happily the chicks look a lot drier than the adult! 20240426_004.jpg I think there was a quick feeding afterwards, and chicks are tucked in again as of 8:23 am. I need to leave for a bit - sorry - not able to check dvr beyond that. H...

Another quick look at 8:10 am - pretty sure everything I saw that looked like it might be a pip or a crack was bits of grass.

I'll be away from the computer for a couple of hours - have a good day, people and eagles!

Re: Boundary Bay Central 2023-2024 Observation and Discussion

Good morning, everyone! 7:14 am Adult on the nest was up for a bit of a stretch; I did not see the pip - it likely was on the back or bottom of the egg. 20240426_001.jpg For those who haven't watched a hatch before, it's hard work for the tiny chick, and there are several steps in the process. The f...

The North cam link I just posted here no longer works already. :( New North link is http...

Re: Report Cams Down and Forum Errors

4:27 am All our streams are down - the cams I checked were all fine. I've sent a message to Ken and Michael with a cc to the zoomer/TA team. It looks as if YouTube may have had a problem briefly last night, but it seems fine now - I was able to log into a couple of our channels, and also tried a few...

Re: Report Cams Down and Forum Errors

3:50pm Boundary Bay Apr23-BB.jpg Seems like the livestream signal really broke up then one stopped streaming altogether, the other appears to be trying but is just a mess of pixelation. I cannot login to either zoomer cam directly either. Update 4:09pm Oh looks like the South cam is streaming again...
