Thanks Sandra! :) :luck: One morning last week there was quite the interaction between Ma and Pa and another couple that seemed to be interested in the nest and territory. Lots of swirling, whirling and shouting between all 4 adults. I saw some pretty heated exchanges with even a couple of talon fac...
So far this year I haven't had any sightings of both adults together but many sightings of a single adult, including one bringing in a stick today. I didn't see which nest the stick was taken to but good to know that they are tackling repairs. One adult flyover on Jan 3 HWF_Field_20210103_0734.jpg A...
Both adults were around in December and I think having to defend the territory a few times against intruders. Intruder does a flyby on Dec 2 and Ma and Pa calling to show the territory is taken HWF_Field_20201202_9356.jpg The intruder looks a new adult HWF_Field_20201202_9364.jpg Ma and Pa relax aga...
I visited on Jan 7 and saw 2 adults perched near the nest and at one time a lot of eagles adults and juvenile circling overhead, plus a couple of red-tailed hawks. Must have been a thermal building :) One adult in the tree as I arrived HWF_SargeantBay_20210107_0759.jpg Two adults in their tree as I ...
I visited on Dec 3 and saw at least 1 adult eagle at the marsh. The nest in the tree above the B&B looked as though it had collapsed on one side so it will be interesting to see if they repair it. I have never seen any eaglets in this nest so I have been wondering if this is an old nest and they are...
Nice to see both eagles staying around! :) Just going through some pics from a few weeks ago and found this one that I took of the Stalashen nest from Mission Point. No adults around though. :( I don't remember seeing it quite so clearly from there before so perhaps a tree came down and cleared the ...
I visited the nest yesterday and saw one adult sitting on top of the nest tree and 1 adult nearby along the shore. So the Brownings are definitely back! Looks like they haven't started rebuilding the nest yet as it was still collapsed One adult from the Browning nest on the right and 2 from t...
I visited the nest yesterday and saw 1 adult and 1 juvenile flying overhead. Neither landed so I can't say for sure if these were the Olave eagles but I know for sure that the Olaves are back as there were lots of fresh sticks sitting on top of the nest. Adult flying overhead HWF_CampOlave_20...
I travelled out on the ferry last Thu morning (Nov 19) and when I arrived at the parking lot Pa was perched on the tower. Ma arrived soon after and both were very busy preening so perhaps had just had breakfast? When I came back later the same day one adult was on the tower while the other was perch...
Some activity from November 2020 Nov 6 2020 My husband was at Langdale last Friday and spotted both eagles in the pair that may be trying to build a nest on the tower platform beside the loading ramp in berth one. David Hancock would like us to let him know of activity we witness there. If they beco...
Some history on this nest from last summer June 2 2020 Eagles were seen carrying sticks to the radio tower at Berth One at the Langdale Ferry terminal. BC Ferries contacted the BC Govt Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations (FLNR) for advice. They contacted David Hancock. The win...
Welcome to the Langdale Creek nest thread If you visit the Langdale Creek nest on the Sunshine Coast, BC, Canada you are welcome to post comments and pictures here. This nest was new to the forum in 2020 though eagles have been seen intermittently in the area for some time. There have been reports o...
Visiting the Olave nest on July 2 I looked across and saw 1 adult top middle in this image. Hopefully that means that the adults are still claiming this territory and will be back next season to try again
Thanks Sandra! Yes s/he did land on the nest but I couldn't really see anything so didn't post any pics. Then a few minutes later s/he flew away from the old nest and then back to the current nest, I'm sure ready for a snooze after that nerve wracking circuit
