Re: Lafarge Eagle Nest Discussion - 2018-2020

I haven't seen or heard the eaglets for a bit either. I went by the nest yesterday and all was quiet - I guess they are off. Looks like Pa and his new mate have had a successful season. Just out of curiosity - has anyone noticed the turkey vultures in the neighboorhood? This is the first year that I...

Re: Lafarge Eagle Nest Discussion - 2018-2020

Hi Pandora Neighbour,
Wow - another great photo! Watching from my roof yesterday I also could see one of the eaglets branching and there has been a lot of wing flapping going on. It has been great to see.
So glad someone else in the neighbourhood is enjoying watching these eagles!!!

Re: Lafarge Eagle Nest Discussion - 2018-2020

Perhaps Pandora Neighbour and I will run into each other at the nest sometime.
I went there today and there was quite a bit of wing flapping going on. I am so glad Pa has and this new mate have been successful this year.

Great photo!
Every time I head to the nest I only see 1 eaglet so it is great to see a photo of the two of them. Thanks for sharing!!

Re: Lafarge Eagle Nest Discussion - 2018-2020

Hi Everyone,
I think there must be an eaglet in the nest now. I saw Pa on his favourite branch and the other other eagle flying above the nest. She soon flew into the nest, but the fact that neither of them was on the nest makes me think we have a hatch.

Re: Lafarge Eagle Nest Discussion - 2018-2020

Hi Everyone, I have been watching the eagles a lot lately now that my view is back. They have been pretty active at the nest. And yesterday I was able to watch one of the adults (Pa I think) on the roof of London Drugs for quite a while. He was drinking rain water and hanging out. One of them has al...

Re: Lafarge Eagle Nest Discussion - 2018-2020

Hi Everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. Well after almost 5 months under tarps I finally have my view of the eagle tree back. Yay! And I am happy to report that both eagles are at the tree and I just watched them switch places - one out of the nest and the other went in - so maybe there is an egg ...

Re: Lafarge Eagle Nest Discussion - 2018-2020

Hello all fellow eagle lovers, I hope everyone is doing okay. I unfortunately can no longer see the eagle tree from my windows as my building is completely boarded and tarped up but I took a few minutes to escape this dungeon of an apartment to go for a solitary walk in the neighbourhood and I was s...

Re: Lafarge Eagle Nest Discussion - Seasons 2018-2020

Good Morning,
Great sight at the eagle nest today. Two bald eagles - one near Pa's branch and another in the nest. Hopefully this is Pa with a new mate - perhaps that one that made a few appearances last spring. Yay!!

Re: Lafarge Eagle Nest Discussion - Seasons 2018-2020

Good Morning Everyone,
So happy to look out my window and see Pa sitting on his favourite branch.
Unfortunately my building is undergoing some repairs soon and my windows will be under tarps so my view of the nest will gone for a few months. But I am happy to be able to see Pa this morning.

Re: Lafarge 2018/2019 Eagle Nest Discussion, Photos and Videos

Hi JudyB, Yes I would say the eaglets left around the 20th because I haven't seen or heard them since around that time. As for Pa, well I was going to say I hadn't seen him either but after talking to my husband just now he told me there was an eagle at the tree this morning and the crows were givin...

Re: Lafarge 2018/2019 Eagle Nest Discussion, Photos and Videos

Well it has been a number of days now and I haven't seen or heard any of the eagles so I think they have left for good. Pa really did a great job - I can't wait to see him back at the nest - maybe with the new 'mystery' eagle as his partner.

Re: Lafarge 2018/2019 Eagle Nest Discussion, Photos and Videos

Yes it has been quite the season for dear old Pa. Seeing the eaglets flying has been great - they were flying together quite often - and it was great to watch them soar. But I have not seen them for a couple of days now - so I wondering what is up - I'll take a walk to the tree in a bit and see if t...

Hi everyone, Went to the tree this afternnon and one eaglet was in the tree another was in a neighbouring tree on a branch and I only saw it when it flew over my head (just a few feet above my head) I have never been that close to an eagle before - It was seriously about 10 or 12 feet above me - kin...

Re: Lafarge 2018/2019 Eagle Nest Discussion, Photos and Videos

Went to the nest and took these photos of the eaglets last evening. Shortly after when sitting at home I saw one of the eaglets (the one on the right) fledge. It flew north for a little bit then flew back towards the tree. It may have landed on the other side of the tree but I couldn't see it. Prett...

I feel very lucky to live so close to this eagle family, just to look out my window and see them at the nest is wonderful. Re: Lafarge 2018/2019 Eagle Nest Discussion, Photos and Videos

Hi Everyone, Well the mystery eagle was back again this afternoon at the nest. I was at the market shopping and I could hear eagles calling so I left the store and saw one eagle flying with food (a seagull I think) towards the nest, followed by another bald eagle. I walked over to the tree and both ...

Re: Lafarge 2018/2019 Eagle Nest Discussion, Photos and Videos

I went by the nest today because when I looked from my window, something didn't look quite the same. Anyhow, I think the nest itself is fine but some of branches directly beneath it have broken off (maybe in the recent wind storm). The broken branches are hanging in the nearby maple tree. Both junio...

Re: Lafarge 2018/2019 Eagle Nest Discussion, Photos and Videos

Hi Everyone,
Well one the juniors has been branching today. It was on a branch higher than the nest, and doing quite a lot of wing flapping - good to see that. Pa was on his branch while this was going on, and I couldn't see the other junior, it must have been down in the nest.
