Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Chris, love your photo. We know that E14 is still a presence in that precious nest. Congrats to Harriet & M15 on their second clutch this season of sweet eagle babes. E15 and E16 both seem like they will have lots of personality and keep their parents on their talons.

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Philjo, thanks for sharing Desiree's touching slideshow tribute to E14 and H & M. So beautiful. E14 always will be in our hearts. E15 seems as feisty as his/her angel sibling. No doubt we'll see E16 first thing tomorrow morning. What a surprise at Decorah North to have both hatch so close together. ...

Re: Trio of Eagles 2019 - 2020

Great s'caps today, everyone!

Sue, thanks for the approximate hatching times. I noticed that not even the Stewards page has any times listed; only Mother Nature knows for sure, I guess, since that bole is so deep.

Re: Trio of Eagles 2019 - 2020

Hello, everyone Just catching up on this thread. I love your names - Snowy and Spring; such cute little bobbleheads ought to have cute names, IMHO. Can anyone tell me the approximate time(s) they each hatched? I know Snowy was 3/23 and Spring on 3/24, and I know the hatches were quite close together...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Philjo, so sad about Caloosa. Looks like that nest is pretty precarious. Sunnybird, I so agree about MS Flycam - I love it! Just saw a sandhill crane walking around. I posted the link on my personal FB page as a good, positive distraction during this time. Always lovely sunrises and sunsets, too. Ha...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Way to go, D32 - so happy you are healed and now free to fly. It was time for Jackie and Shadow to leave the eggs. I read that they were just yolk, so not fertilized; no less sad. It is better for Jackie and Shadow to be able to soar now; incubating is hard on the body. Hopefully, they will be bless...

Yes, Phil, it is! There is another one about 40 minutes away - Fort St. Vrain nest cam, run by Raptor Resource Project (also do Deborah and Dec North). FSV eagles have 3 eggs this year!

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

So sad to hear about DH9. Such a young baby and maybe too adventurous; such a tragic accident. Philjo, thank you for the lovely tribute :grhug: Sorry about the third egg lost at Sauces, too. Rejoicing for Notre Dame, DH11, and Mom Decorah on their eggs. :woohoo: A camera fairly close to me in Colora...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

So sad to hear confirmation of Baroness Barefoot's passing. I am sure she fought hard in order to be abe to return to her Baron, nest, and wanting to continue their legacy with more hatchlings. Sadly, it was not to be. Baroness was a gorgeous WTE, amazing mother, and steadfast mate. A great eagle. M...

Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2019~2020

Wow, wow, wow - what an amazing surprise! Of course, we all observed the courtship and nesting behaviors, but it seemed too unlikely to happen. Well, if anyone could pull this off, it is our determined and powerful Queen Harriett and valiant M15. So surprised and ecstatic for them, SWFEC, the Pritch...

Hello, Friends Well, a real mixture of good news and sad news this week. Thanks, Peggy. Our new cam is Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 IV. It was recommended by other eagle photographers to us. Fast shutter, up to 600mm zoom, and I love the fact that it's lightweight.

Thanks for your comment on my photos, Pascale. Nice to see Saucy; always great when one returns and you know they are still doing well, on their path to adulthood.

Philjo, thanks for the update on Bailey. She has a good home, well cared for by Audubon. Such a pretty girl.

Thanks, Philjo. My husband estimates 60-70 feet away. I've been taking so many eagle photos lately, that it's hard to remember. The camera zooms out to 600mm.

Minna, thank you for your stories, and I look forward to your new poem. I cannot speak of of Feisty 14er without tears, either; or the other lost ones. Philjo, I think E9/14's sounds good.

Kathy's poem was amazing. I could picture it all in my mind.
