Re: SW Florida Eagle Cam 2019~2020

What a magical season this has become with Harriet and M15's miracle clutch entertaining us as they grow and learn. I've been so amused by their hanging out at the pond (it seems much more than other eaglets), perching on the pylons, the daily rumble, and of course bathing and splashing in the water...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Anuli, I sure hope you are right about Gabby. Hope it has been her perching in the Lumberyard.

Sunnybird, I always enjoy your beautiful postings from the Flyway cam.

Pascale, such a sad situation in Latvia.

Pascale, what a great job on the video of E16, and I love your song choice, too.

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

So glad the Decorah Trio all returned to the nest and that all are well! Now, Outdoor School lessons begin as Mom and DM2 teach them all they need to know to survive well. For those who followed AEF-NEFL this year with Samson & Gabrielle, Jules & Romy, here are a few good end of season memories: Sli...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Hi, Pascale
Yes, an unfortunate incident. Mom seems to be just fine; I believe she fell off the branch first. Hopefully D36 is okay, too. They spotted several of the eaglets today, but were not sure who was who. Lots of rain there today, too, so hopefully tomorrow they can make some definite id's.

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

A big day in Decorah as D35 fludged this morning and D36 fledged this evening. D35 seemed to lose his/her balance as the moved on the skywalk and fell to the ground; they then flew to a stump and later flew off the stump very well, so they appear to be okay. Philjo, beautiful lily of the valley tradition for May Day. Rachel was a stunning osprey and a wonderful mother.  Kathie's tribute is lovely. Minna - you've done it again!  Another brilliant song - thank you! I'm glad Hickory's fludge turned out well, and she is back in the nest. Chris - thanks for ...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Pascale, I share your concern about the National Arboretum nest in Washington DC. It seems like TFL has been around more this year than last, but she is in and out. For the second year with no eggs, it would seem that she is infertile. Such a sad situation. They have been such a dear couple, and so ...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Yes, very sudden and sad news at Decorah North. This information is from RRP's FB page: Remembering DN11~ 3-30-2020 - 4-10-2020 We are saddened to report that Decorah North Nest eaglet DN11 passed this morning about 5:56am CT. He/she appeared to have some sort of obstruction yesterday or looked as i...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Chris, love your photo. We know that E14 is still a presence in that precious nest. Congrats to Harriet & M15 on their second clutch this season of sweet eagle babes. E15 and E16 both seem like they will have lots of personality and keep their parents on their talons.

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Philjo, thanks for sharing Desiree's touching slideshow tribute to E14 and H & M. So beautiful. E14 always will be in our hearts. E15 seems as feisty as his/her angel sibling. No doubt we'll see E16 first thing tomorrow morning. What a surprise at Decorah North to have both hatch so close together. ...

Great s'caps today, everyone!

Sue, thanks for the approximate hatching times. I noticed that not even the Stewards page has any times listed; only Mother Nature knows for sure, I guess, since that bole is so deep.

Re: Trio of Eagles 2019 - 2020

Hello, everyone Just catching up on this thread. I love your names - Snowy and Spring; such cute little bobbleheads ought to have cute names, IMHO. Can anyone tell me the approximate time(s) they each hatched? I know Snowy was 3/23 and Spring on 3/24, and I know the hatches were quite close together...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Way to go, D32 - so happy you are healed and now free to fly. It was time for Jackie and Shadow to leave the eggs. I read that they were just yolk, so not fertilized; no less sad. It is better for Jackie and Shadow to be able to soar now; incubating is hard on the body. Hopefully, they will be bless...

Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

So sad to hear confirmation of Baroness Barefoot's passing. I am sure she fought hard in order to be abe to return to her Baron, nest, and wanting to continue their legacy with more hatchlings. Sadly, it was not to be. Baroness was a gorgeous WTE, amazing mother, and steadfast mate. A great eagle. M...

Wow, wow, wow - what an amazing surprise! Of course, we all observed the courtship and nesting behaviors, but it seemed too unlikely to happen. Re: EAGLE Chatters Nest

Thanks, Peggy. Our new cam is Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 IV. It was recommended by other eagle photographers to us. Fast shutter, up to 600mm zoom, and I love the fact that it's lightweight.
