Re: Birds -- General Discussion

Interesting - I did know that cuckoo's tend to lay eggs in other birds' nests - but that poor parent stuck with such a large chick! I hope the youngster learns to find their own food soon. :) Thanks for posting this, Sue! You're welcome, Judy! I watch this dam cam on a regular basis, and I had scro...

Re: Eagles in the News

You may need to have a Facebook account to see this post (dated December 15), but it's pretty remarkable footage of a bald eagle carrying a Canada goose:

Re: South African Black Eagle ~ 2018-2022

Hi, Judy! I checked the Facebook page again today and found this post from November 23: “Naming of the Juvenile” - Black Eagle Project Roodekrans (BEPR) has aligned itself with the thinking of other Conservationists around the World in believing that an Animal/Bird from the “WILD” not be given a “pe...

Bev: Off the subject : Looks like Hurricane Fiona is headed your way. Prayers for safety. I too am thinking of you, Bev! We're not supposed to get a direct hit in our part of the province, but it looks like where you are might be in the path. In better news, it's exciting to see eagles at the Harri...

Judy, I am happy to be able to contribute to this thread you started! My photos aren't nearly as good as yours, because we were quite far away. My husband and I stopped by the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge in Maine (near Calais, right before you cross the border into New Brunswick) on May 27, ...

The eggs were untended from Mom's departure at 12:18 p.m. until Mom's (I assume it's her) return at 1:53 p.m.

She's still there, settled on the eggs at 2:07 p.m.

She seems very watchful at 2:14 p.m.
