Re: Harrison Mills Observation and Discussion Nest Thread ..2019-2020

I wondered if we were in the eye of the storm. We are west of the storm track, which they say is not expected to bear the brunt of the storm. Right now it's fairly calm here, but I know that Teddy is supposed to be a slow mover, so there will likely be more wind and rain overnight. We had a brief po...

Re: Harrison Mills Observation and Discussion Nest Thread ..2019-2020

Hello, Bev and all! I hope that everyone in Teddy's path is staying safe. So far, I've seen far worse winds from nor'easters. But the day is still young. Fingers crossed that it's not too bad.

Is there to be any cleaning/maintenance work on the Harrison Mills cams?

Re: HALIFAX OSPREY NEST ... 2020

Hello, Bev and all! I scrolled back and found this osprey arriving at 6:43 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020. The osprey stayed perched on the branch (never came to the nest), did a poo shoot at 7:08 p.m., then flew off at 7:16 p.m.:

Re: HALIFAX OSPREY NEST ... 2020

Good morning Bev, Carolyn & others: Pretty nice view at this Lagoon Air Field.. . I suspect this is why they have the cam zoomed out, so that we can see the ospreys flying to and from the nest. And that is the advantage of it. But I agree with Bev. I wish the cam were still zoomed in on the nest. I...

5:34 a.m.: Eaglet slid down the tree limb a bit, then flew down into the nest and did some trampoline-style wingersizing.
5:48 a.m.: Eaglet flew back up to the tree limb.

12:08 p.m. ctd.: Eaglet looks over at parent and calls out. Parent flies off.
12:39 p.m.: That was a good meal, whatever it was. Feeding lasted till now, then the eaglet scurried over to something else in the nest. Not sure if it's food, though.

Re: Surrey Reserve 2019-2020 Observation and Discussion

12:08 p.m.: Food delivery. I'm not sure what the prey is. It has legs or wings, but the image is too grainy for me to tell for sure. The parent crossed the nest, and I was surprised the eaglet didn't mantle over the prey.

Re: Request a New Thread Here

Question: Is there a way to create a general thread in the "Falcoln" forum? I see threads devoted to particular nests, but not a general thread for photos or screenshots. I have a screenshot of a pygmy falcon from a recent WildEarth safari drive that I'd like to share. Also, would it be possible to ...

Re: HALIFAX OSPREY NEST ... 2020

10:36-11:58 a.m.: Hello, Bev and all! I'm not sure what this material is. It's a larger piece of material than that brown cloth that was brought in earlier. It's been dragged all over the nest. Right now it's sort of clumped up in the middle.
