Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019-2023 Seasons

I saw the eagle on top of the totem pole that day, too. I guess the season has begun.
Your last photo is a classic.

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019/2020/2021 Seasons

That nest doesn't look very sturdy. One more windstorm and it will be twigs on the ground.

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019/2020 Season

Unfortunately I didn’t carry my phone on this morning’s dog walk. A large adult bald eagle was sitting on a high log right off Holland Point Park. She was there from 9:45 to 10:15 at least. A few people noticed and one took a photo. I assumed it was a female from the size. She had a full white head ...

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019/2020 Season

At 9:40 this morning an adult eagle flew low over the Dallas Rd path, headed towards Ogden Point. I think I was the only one who noticed, everyone else was looking at their phones!

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019/2020 Season

Two adult bald eagles were on the lamp standard at Ogden Point this morning. They were very vocal.
I didn't have my camera this time.

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019/2020 Season

Both BHP eagles were on the same lamp standard at Ogden Point this morning. In all the time I have watched them I have never seen them on the same standard!

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019/2020 Season

This morning I saw an adult bald eagle sitting on the rocks at Holland Point. Eagle at Holland Point Dec 4 2019.jpg Others said there had been two eagles there, and it sort of looks like another pair of legs but no white head. The eagle was there for half an hour, and perhaps longer. Some people wit...

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019/2020 Season

I saw an adult eagle today just after 12 noon. I was driving north on Douglas at Simcoe, admiring the double rainbow, when a mature eagle flew south along the edge of BHP. No time for a photo but it was low enough to see great detail. Perhaps that was the same one you saw, sassyk.

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019/2020 Season

At ten o'clock this morning I saw a bald eagle fly east just off Holland Point. At few minutes later I saw two eagles flying just above the water, but not catching anything. I followed their direction and saw them both sitting on a rock offshore. I didn't have binoculars, but two other people confir...

One of the BHP eagles was on lookout duty at Ogden Point this morning. It was about 9 AM PST.
I have tried to attach a photo. Hope it works.

There was an eagle sitting atop the BHP totem at 9:30 this morning. It was backlit so I couldn't tell if it was mature.

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2019/2020 Season

One of the BHP eagles has returned. S/He was sitting on the rocks off Holland Point about 9:10 today, Sept 30. S/He then flew low over the water toward the Breakwater. Maybe landed on the lamp standards at Ogden Point, a favourite perch, but I didn't see him/her land.

A mature bald eagle flew over Dallas Road at 10:20 this morning. It was near the flagpole and was pretty much following the road.

Re: Beacon Hill Park Eagles, Victoria BC - 2018/2019 Season

I wonder if the eagle pair who have been seen around the Ross Bay cemetery are the Beacon Hill pair, or a new mated pair.
Any ideas?
